PSN Plus offers new subscription deal for May 2011 content

Sony's offering a new PlayStation Plus subscription deal to coincide with what it's calling its "biggest content update yet".

Subscribers who sign up for the paid PSN service before May 3 will get the further benefit of a 15 month subscription for the price of 12, says SCEE.

Existing members can take advantage of this offer too, thanks to the new subscription stacking service, it says. Renew your membership before your current one has ended, and you'll have the extra months lined up and ready to go when your subscription lapses.

Here's what PlayStation Plus members can expect in May 2011 based on information we have received prior to the PSN hack, so it is very likely that we'll all see significantly more or better content than what is listed below. This is what free and discounted items EU members can expect to get from May 4th:

PSN: Streets of Rage 2

minis: Babel, the King of Blocks, The 2D Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character (brand new and 2 weeks exclusive to PS+)

PSOne Classic: James Pond 2: Robocod

Discounts: Eat Them! (50%), Beyond Good & Evil (20%), PlayTV Live Chat (25%)

Full Game Trial: TV SuperStars

Dynamic Themes: Exclusive City DYnamic Theme, Exclusive Dragon Dynamic Theme.

The US update (originally meant for April 26th) follows, but bear in mind that the treats are staggered over a few weeks usually, rather than having a single big update:

PSN: Streets of Rage 2 (May 3rd), Crash Commando

PSOne Classic: Nothing confirmed yet!

minis: Alien Zombie Death

Full Game Trial: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Discounts: Outland (20%), Funky Lab Rat (60%)

Featured Themes & Avatars: SEGA Genesis Dynamic Theme, Anomalies Static Theme, MotorStorm Apocalypse Avatars x2, Might and Magic Clash Of Heroes x2, Resident Evil 5 Avatars Bundle x10 ($0.99)
