All Mario fans should mark 4 February on their new Official Nintendo Magazine calendar, Why? Because two new Mario games are coming out on the same day! Yesterday we revealed that Mario Sports Mix will be released for Wii on 4 February and Nintendo has just announced that Mario Vs Donkey Kong: March Of The Minis will be coming out for DS on the same day.
Mini-Land Mayhem is the fourth game in the handheld puzzle series. In the press release announcing the release date, Nintendo has explained a bit more about the game's plot. It sees Mario opening a shiny new theme park and inviting his girlfriend Pauline as a special guest for the event (What's happened to Peach?). Donkey Kong then kidnaps Pauline right under Mario's nose.
In order to rescue Pauline, you'll need to steer a group of miniature Mario toys through challenging puzzle levels each with an exit door. You can alter the path the Mini Marios take by drawing bridges, creating ladders and moving springs and blocks to ensure they avoid traps and enemies.
There are eight attractions based around different themes, including Teatime Trail (based on a Teacups ride) and Cannon Cove - an area which uses cannons as a mode of transport. If you get stuck, there is a Help Mode which offers assistance while a Mini Guide will demonstrate how to complete the stage
As with the DSiWare game Mario Vs Donkey Kong 3: Minis March Again, you can create your own levels. This time Nintendo provide a template and you can create your own original levels before entering them in official online competitions. The winners are voted for online by other Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem players, and you can download and play as many levels as you like via Wi-Fi Connection before voting for the best.
Which Mario game will you buy on 4 February? Mario Sports Mix or Mario Vs Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem.
