Beyonce has been sued by video game developer Gate Five for an amount in the order of $100 million dollars. The company claims that she destroyed their business by changing the terms of negotiation in the middle of the development of a game called "Starpower".
According to the summons filed in New York this past Tuesday, Beyonce and Gate Five teamed up in June of 2010 to create the game in which the singer would license her image and would allow players to sing and dance along to her well known songs. Gate Five claims they invested around seven million dollars initially and agreed to "lavish compensation terms" to the singer.
After six months of development on the game, Gate five alleges, the singer changed her mind on the initial agreement and demanded entirely new compensation terms. These actions in turn drove away the game's financier. Beyonce ended up quitting the project and the whole game coming to an abrupt halt.
Because of the unfinished project, the court papers declare, on a whim Beyonce destroyed Gate Five's business and 70 people lost their jobs. By Christmas time of 2010 the singer did not want to deal with the game company anymore and even her father renounced appalled at her behavior.
At the time of writing of this article Beyonce has not responded to the allegations of the lawsuit, but we will be bringing you any new developments on this story as they come to light
