One of the main focuses of Bioware is to bring back some RPG elements that were in Mass Effect but had been taken out in Mass Effect 2. There are many new ways to move across the battle field such as a refined sprint system, rolling, and the use of ladders. Weapons are no longer class restrictive but classes can only carry a certain amount of weapons, however the soldier class will be granted with the benefit of carrying any number of weapons. Weapons can also be customized with different scopes and barrels, the cover system has been refined and you no longer need to slide into cover to jump over obstacles.
The overall difficulty has been increased with Mass Effect project manager describing normal as "the new veteran". The Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been increased dramatically with different enemies combining their attacks to give more of a challenge to the player.
Some of the enemies in Massive Effect 3 are Cerebus Mecha, and the Assault units, ninja style shock troopers and Reaper ships that range between 500 meters and 2 kilometers.
Players will no longer have to start from scratch. If they import their saved games from Massive Effect 2 they will carry with them their level and all their weapons. Some returning squad mates are the Virmire survivor either Kaiden Alenko or Ashley Williams, Liara T'Soni, Garrus Vakarian and Tali' Zorah and a new squad mate James Vega.
No doubt E3 will show us some gameplay and provide us some more information about Massive Effect 3.Massive Effect 3 is slated for release in late 2011 or early 2012.
